Tracheostomy is an opening surgical created through the neck into the trachea (windpipe) to allow direct access to Breathing tube and is commonly done in  operating room under general anesthesia. A tube is placed through the opening to deliver an airway and to remove secretions from the lungs. The resulting stoma can serve independently to airway or to a site of Tracheal tube to be inserted. This tube allows a person to breathe without the use of nose or mouth. Tracheotomy may cause significant reduction in the administration of sedatives and vasopressors, as well as the duration of stay in the intensive care unit.

The process is performed by the otolaryngologist or ENT Surgeon. The surgery might be performed on one ear if the middle ear issue is available just on one ear or on the both ears if necessary. The surgery is most frequently performed on children less than five years of age but may also performed on older children and adults. The procedure is temporary solution, yet can be repeated if necessary, as the ear tubes eventually fall out.

A septoplasty (SEP-toe-plast-tee) is a surgical procedure that straightens the bone and cartilage that separates the space between the two nostrils (nasal septum). When the nasal septum is bent, it is called a deviated nasal septum. A deviated nasal septum makes it difficult to breathe through the nose and increases the risk of sinusitis due to poor drainage.

A septoplasty repositions the nasal septum in the middle of the nose. For this reason, it may be necessary for the surgeon to cut and remove part of the nasal septum before it can be put back in place. When the septoplasty heals, breathing may become easier. Surgeons can discuss what a septoplasty can do.

          Session-24: Tonsillectomy/ Adenoidectomy

A tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure performed with or without an adenoidectomy that completely removes the tonsils, including the tonsillar sac, by cutting the peritonsillar space between the tonsillar sac and the muscle wall. Two common reasons for this surgery are sleep-disordered breathing and recurrent throat infections. A variety of complications can occur with tonsillectomy, including bleeding, velopharyngeal insufficiency, and dehydration. This activity describes indications, contraindications, and techniques for performing tonsillectomy and highlights the role of multidisciplinary teams in the pre- and postoperative care of these patients.

Adenoidectomy is a common surgical procedure performed mainly in children for infectious or obstructive reasons. This activity details the indications, contraindications, and complications of adenoidectomy, techniques for performing adenoidectomy, and focuses on the role of multidisciplinary health care providers in the management of patients undergoing adenoidectomy.

          Session-25: Epiglottitis

A potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when the tissues that protect the airways become inflamed. Epiglottitis is often caused by an infection. The resulting inflammation causes swelling and blocks airflow to the lungs. Common symptoms include shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, and sore throat. Infection often causes fever. If an infection is present, treatment includes antibiotics. In severe cases, a breathing tube or ventilator may be required.

          Session-26: Laryngitis

Laryngitis is inflammation of the vocal tract (larynx) caused by overuse, irritation, or infection.

The larynx contains the vocal cords and is a double layer of mucosa that covers muscle and cartilage. Normally, the vocal cords gently open and close to produce sound through their movement and vibration.

But with laryngitis, the vocal cords become inflamed and inflamed. This causes the vocal cords to swell, distorting the sound produced by air passing over them. This will make your voice sound hoarse. People with laryngitis may also lose most of their voice.

Laryngitis may be short-lived (acute) or long-lasting (chronic). Most cases of laryngitis are caused by transient viral infections and are not serious. A persistent hoarse voice may indicate a more serious underlying condition.

It is associated with normal, pathological, and occupational processes including speech, speech, language, swallowing, and hearing. It is not only a specific discipline, but also a discipline that combines the accumulation of knowledge in medical and non-medical sciences. The Department of Otolaryngology (ORL) and the Council of the European Union of Specialized Physicians (UEMS) have decided on "Speechology - Communication Disorders" as one of the seven subspecialties of Otolaryngology. Many non-medical specialties also contribute to speech disorders. These are sometimes called language and language pathology, audiology, linguistics, child development, psychology, child psychology, physical therapy, acoustics, physics, biomedicine, pedagogy, and computer information technology.

          Market Analysis

          MARKET ANALYSIS

The market for ENT devices was estimated at USD 23.0 billion in 2022, and from 2023 to 2030, it is anticipated to increase at a CAGR of 5.74%. Increasing elderly populations, rising prevalence of ENT-related illnesses, and increasing use of less invasive ENT operations are some of the important factors driving market expansion. Technological developments are essential to the market's expansion.

Due to their high cost and the fact that their use is primarily restricted to rich nations like the U.S., the demand for modern ENT devices and systems, such as robot-assisted endoscopes, is low in emerging economies. However, it is projected that rising per capita income and higher healthcare spending by other countries will dramatically increase market penetration. Sales are anticipated.
